Woods paired with nemesis Garcia for Round 3

Tiger Woods
LAKE FOREST, Ill. – Getting slapped with a two-shot penalty was bad enough for Tiger Woods.

In Round 3 at the BMW Championship, he’ll be paired with Sergio Garcia. They’ll go off at 11:50 a.m. CT at Conway Farms. At 4-under 138, they are seven shots off the lead.

This will be their first encounter since their now-infamous showdown in May at The Players. Paired together in the third round at TPC Sawgrass, Garcia accused Woods of distracting him while he was attempting to play a shot. They traded a few barbs in the press, and Woods went on to win the tournament. Later that month, Garcia responded to a playful question at the European Tour gala by making a racially insensitive remark.

After his round Friday, Woods was assessed a two-shot penalty after his ball was determined to move on the first hole. That dropped his score from 70 to 72, leaving him in a tie for 13th with Garcia.
