Practice Golf on the Driving Range

Some players who practice at the range tend to throw down a bucket of balls and start firing away with reckless abandon. They are the ones who are unable to make the most in the practice range. If you want to get the most of every practice, you have to be patient on the range and watch each ball fly through the air, land and roll to the stop. Then you need to back away and start your preshot routine all over again so you can practice getting your alignment down pat taking your next shot.

It is important to set up the same way every shot to groove a repeatable swing. If you are setting up differently for each shot with discount golf clubs, then you are going to confuse yourself with different shot swings each time.

Not only is it vital to practice setting up the ball, but you also need to make sure you line up correctly towards your target. It's easy to make the mistake of pointing offline or to start opening or closing your stance unintentionally. To make sure you are squared up for every shot you take, lay down a few clubs on the ground: one where your feet should go and the other either in front or behind the ball pointing to your target. This exercise will help you square your body and clubface up to the intended target and enables you to visualize on what the proper target looks like when you can't use discount golf clubs to point the way on the course.

One more thing you need to look into is that the ball should be in the same position each time. To hit the ball from the same point each time you pull out a specific club will enable you to make consistent contact with each swing.

When you're practicing on an open range, don't just hit the balls without aim, instead pick out a target to aim each time you square up for a shot. This will not only enable you to work on your alignment but it will also help you gauge your flight pattern. Most golfers usually have some sort of movement on their shots, whether it's left-to-right or right-to-left. What is the movements you usually make on your discount golf clubs? If you pick out a target and watch closely to where the ball lands, then you will be able to estimate how many yards left or right your ball swings in the air. Taking this drill out onto the course will help you pick out a target and hit your natural ball flight and to land the ball where you intend it to.

This will also allow you to become more acquainted with the amount of variance you have with your shots. If you normally have a 10 yard fade with your 3-iron, but every once in a while hit a 30 yard fade, you might want to aim a little farther left of the hole if there is a hazard to the right of the green. Knowing where you are more likely to "miss" will help you manage the course better and save yourself wasted strokes.
