Here is main technology on G20 driver from Ping.
Firstly,Distance and accuracy are optimized by an external weight that optimizes the center of gravity position to generate high launch and low spin. The G20's large, variable-thickness face generates faster ball speeds and increases MOI for maximum forgiveness.
Secondly The 460cc clubhead is made from Ti 8-1-1, a lighter, lower-density alloy. Ti 8-1-1's high strength-to-weight ratio allows for additional weight to be strategically placed for increasing the MOI on both the vertical and horizontal axes. Weight savings from varying wall thicknesses in the crown and body are positioned to optimize performance and durability.
About the shaft
To get the most distance from your driver, you must optimize the launch angle and spin rate of the ball by selecting the proper loft and the shaft flex for your swing speed. Generally, golfers with slower swing speeds require more lofted drivers and more flexible shafts to achieve the proper launch conditions. Conversely, golfers with faster swing speeds generally require lower lofted drivers and firmer shafts.
A trained fitter can help you get the most out of each drive by observing the ball flight of shots hit with different loft and shaft specifications, and recommending the combination that creates the best trajectory shape for maximum distance. To find out which driver lofts and shaft flexes might be suggested for your swing get Web-Fit.
Ping G20 driver is available in PING TFC 169D and PING TFC 169D Tour shaft with Graphite in Stiff and Regular at our website www.bestgolfseller.com.
Comparision
The G20 driver has a heavier head than G15 (7 grams more than standard) for greater force at impact. Additional backweighting and a more elongated face shore up misses. (Ping "shaved" the head in the low toe area to meet the 460cc size limit.) The reconfigured clubhead — 5 percent higher moment of inertia on heel or toe hits — combines with a light, 45.75-inch "high-balance point" shaft (TFC 169D or TFC 169D Tour) to boost clubhead speed and, thus, distance. Specifically, the TFC 169D shaft has more flexible tip and butt sections for softer feel. Furthermore,G20 launches shots 0.75 degrees higher than G15, with 200 rpm less spin and 1 mph faster ball speed on center hits, which adds up to five yards more carry and roll.
In a word, the G20 felt very good and certainly had some pop to it. The head looks massive and has a more low-profile look that I expected. Interestly looks more like a Callaway designed crown, but I do prefer the lighter colour to the former G15 look. The Tour Shaft did make a difference and added a more penetrating ball flight to my swing. Easy to hit, and can get the ball in the air, probably perfect for a 10-20 handicapper.
